Facebook To Provide Delegates With Conference Details On The Day

With one day to go until our annual conference we're letting delegates know that they can find details of the talks and workshops on Facebook throughout the day.

Our Getting a Life Conference is all about living well and extending the length and quality of life for those with mental health issues across Wales and is taking place at Cardiff's Mercure Holland House Hotel tomorrow.

In a bid to help delegates keep up with events on the day we're going to use our Facebook Page to keep everyone informed about what's up next on the timetable.

If you're a delegate all you have to do is Like our page at www.facebook.com/wamhinpc and you'll automatically receive posts and updates to your on Facebook profile about the upcoming events during the day.

A range of talks and workshops by mental health experts have been arranged for the day-long event which will provide attendees with the opportunity to:

  • Improve their skills and competencies on mental health issues
  • Improve their confidence to manage mental health issues particularly in a primary care setting
  • Learn how improved outcomes are delivered through collaboration and partnership
  • Develop their confidence and competence to a Gold Standard level by making trust, person centredness and communication a reality in daily practice.

For a full list of events and workshops you can also download our latest Getting A Life Conference Programme.

For more information about the conference please contact our Project Manager Lesley Hills via email at lhills@rcgp.org.uk or on 029 2050 4516.

North Wales Provides Another Facebook Cover Picture

Our latest Facebook cover image again comes courtesy of another RCGP member from north Wales.

Our new Facebook image was taken by Salaried GP Dr Bridget Osborne and is of the famous Welsh landmark Conway Castle.

We've been updating our Facebook page every Wednesday for the past few weeks with an entry from a photographic competition being run by RCGP Wales called “Where I Work” which celebrates the organisation's 60th Anniversary this year.

As part of the contest, the College has asked members to send it images associated with their workplace with the winning entries set to be displayed in the Cymru Wales Room in the RCGP's new HQ in Euston Square, London, when it opens later this year.

WaMH in PC has an interest in the College as we were established by its Welsh branch back in 2003 to act as a special interest working group to promote primary mental health care and improve mental health services across Wales.

We're trying to contact as many entrants as possible to ask for their permission to show-off their photographic skills via Facebook so if you've entered and would like to see your photo on our page then please don't hesitate to get in touch.

All you have to do is email your image, its name and your details to our Project Manager Lesley Hills at lhills@rcgp.org.uk and we'll look into adding it to our page over the coming weeks.
