Latest Facebook Cover Picture of West Wales Sun and Surf Spot

Our latest Facebook cover image is of a well-known West Wales sun and surf spot.

Our new Facebook image was submitted Swansea GP Jo Thomas GP of someone on the sand dunes at Llangenith on the Gower.

We've been updating our Facebook page every Wednesday for the past few weeks with an entry from a photographic competition being run by RCGP Wales called “Where I Work” which celebrates the organisation's 60th Anniversary this year.

As part of the contest, the College has asked members to send it images associated with their workplace with the winning entries set to be displayed in the Cymru Wales Room in the RCGP's new HQ in Euston Square, London, when it opens later this year.

WaMH in PC has an interest in the College as we were established by its Welsh branch back in 2003 to act as a special interest working group to promote primary mental health care and improve mental health services across Wales.

We're trying to contact as many entrants as possible to ask for their permission to show-off their photographic skills via Facebook so if you've entered and would like to see your photo on our page then please don't hesitate to get in touch.

All you have to do is email your image, its name and your details to our Project Manager Lesley Hills at lhills@rcgp.org.uk and we'll look into adding it to our page over the coming weeks.

Facebook Cover Picture Shows off South Wales Shore

Our latest Facebook cover image again is of the South Wales shoreline.

Our new Facebook image was submitted on behalf of Dr Mair Hopkins by Civil Servant Rachel Hawkins and shows off the shoreline in Porthcawl.

Facebook To Provide Delegates With Conference Details On The Day

Our Getting a Life Conference is all about living well and extending the length and quality of life for those with mental health issues across Wales and is taking place at Cardiff's Mercure Holland House Hotel tomorrow.

In a bid to help delegates keep up with events on the day we're going to use our Facebook Page to keep everyone informed about what's up next on the timetable.

A range of talks and workshops by mental health experts have been arranged for the day-long event which will provide attendees with the opportunity to:

  • Improve their confidence to manage mental health issues particularly in a primary care setting
  • Learn how improved outcomes are delivered through collaboration and partnership
  • Develop their confidence and competence to a Gold Standard level by making trust, person centredness and communication a reality in daily practice.
