WaMH in PC Facebook Update

As announced earlier this week - WaMH in PC is set to join Facebook as part of our aim to promote primary mental health care across Wales.

Our new Facebook page will be going live on Monday 7th May and we'll be updating this website by adding various Facebook buttons to our pages.

These buttons will includes various Like and Logo buttons which you can use to help yourself and others find our new page on Facebook - so please look out for them from next week and feel free to click and help spread the word.

We're always looking to develop new ways of discussing mental health problems in primary care settings and hopefully Facebook will help us reach a wider audience who can help us achieve this and our other goals.

If you've got any suggestions about the kinds of information you'd like us to put up on Facebook please contact our Project Manager Lesley Hills at lhills@rcgp.org.uk.

Information Sheet 11 - The Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010 Issue 2

Our latest Information Sheet is a briefing note for GPs and primary care practitioners about The Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.

The Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010 introduces a number of important changes relating to the assessment and treatment of people with mental health problems across Wales.

It specifically aims to improve and target primary and secondary mental health services across the country and started to make changes from January this year.

The aim of Information Sheet 11 - The Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010 Issue 2 provides notes for mental health care professionals about the first 4 parts of this legislation which wil all have come into effect by the end of this year.

Our Information Sheets are part of our aim to improve mental health services and have been developed to provide valuable information, training and support tools on primary care mental health in Wales.

The publication of our Information Sheets come under the set objectives or our Gold Standard Project which has set the goal of providing good communication on mental health issues at the heart of its work.

All our Information Sheets are available to download and view from our Information Sheets page and for further information about the measure please visit our Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.

If you have any questions about Information Sheet 11 or trouble downloading it please contact our Project Manager Lesley Hills via email at lhills@rcgp.org.uk or on 029 2050 4516.

WaMH in PC To Join Facebook

WaMH in PC is set to join Facebook next week as part of our ongoing aim to promote primary mental health care and improve mental health services across Wales.

Facebook has more than 30 million registered users across the UK (about half the UK population) and signing up will hopefully help us bringing people with a real interest in primary health care mental health together.

We'll be following in the footsteps of fellow mental health campaigners Hafal and Gofal who have already taken the Facebook plunge to help spread the message about the need for good mental health services across the country.
